A Community Project to honour women who have enriched our lives

The Ban Righ Centre supports mature women who are starting or returning to education at Queen’s University. In taking this significant step, these women found role models, advocates and inspiration in other women. Then, as they engage in their studies and in their activities beyond Queen’s with friends, family, peers and colleagues, these students effect continual and positive change, extending the reach of their mentors and the Ban Righ Centre. Through “Who Is She?” we honour women who make a difference.

I was 3 years old when Tammy first came into my life, marrying my big brother Noel. However, Tammy has always been mine, and I’ve always been hers. Every problem, every concern from earliest times on…every big event in my life….every joy and every sorrow, she’s my first phone call. Tammy is the quintessential mother….a nurturer by nature, and inspiration of how a woman can be strong and soft at the same time. Tammy taught me that giving up was not an option, and if you try hard enough, dreams can come true. Who is she? She is my sister, my best friend, my mother, my mentor. She is, to all who know her, simply irreplaceable; she is Tammy.
